Session 2

Module 3: An important aspect at RFP and contract time is the ability to work with the customer for full understanding of what really is expected. The efforts involved in this activity will be covered. Many projects fail because of requirements creep - this module suggests how to keep that under control. The customer interface during the project life cycle is discussed in relation to managing requirements. What a requirements baseline is and how to establish it is covered in this module. Different types of baselines are discussed and what they infer to your company is discussed. The tracking and control of requirements is discussed in light of its benefits to the project. Requirements traceability is covered and some traceability tools are introduced. What verification and validation means in relation to requirements analysis and management is covered.

Module 4: An exercise is the focus of this module. The attendees, separated into groups, will be assigned a set of requirements on which they will perform the following activities:

    1. Identify the type of requirement
    2. Steps to establish a requirements baseline
    3. Define risks in this requirements set
